Tea Bird Tea Berry Blush Review

Tea Bird Tea Berry Blush Packs A Fruity Punch!

The first thing you notice about the Tea Bird Tea Berry Blush is its super fun, colorful packaging. When I opened the tin, I was greeted with an equally fun, strong, fruity smell of berries.

I will say I’m not big on fruity or strongly floral teas. However, my brother sent me this tea and the packaging looked so fun and it smelled so good that I was quite excited to try it!

Unfortunately, this tea is quite sour for my taste. I don’t like my hot teas sour. But the sour taste and strong fruity aroma made me think it would taste much better as an iced tea. And I was right!

In this article, we will explore:

  • Brewing Conditions
  • Aroma
  • Taste
  • Packaging
  • Value for Money
  • Caffeine Level

  • Where to Buy

Brewing Conditions for Tea Bird Tea Berry Blush:

I made this tea according to the instructions. I steeped two teabags in about 500ml of boiling water for 3 minutes in a glass teapot. This was enough time to extract a strong aroma and taste.

If you want to have this tea iced (which I strongly recommend), I suggest Tea Drunk’s method: Pour about 50 ml of boiling water over the tea, followed by 650 ml of room-temperature water, and refrigerate overnight. Then strain the tea and serve over ice.

Aroma (5/5):

The aroma of the Tea Bird Tea Berry Blush is very sweet and fruity and not in an artificial way. The strong, sweet smell of licorice, berries, and apples is nicely balanced by the citrusy scent of lemon myrtle.

It really does smell deliciously refreshing, so I gave this tea a 5 on aroma.

Taste (3.5/5):

As I’ve already mentioned, I don’t like hot sour tea. So as hot tea, I’d give it a 3/5. But I do want to mention that my mother absolutely loved this tea. So if you like fruity, sour teas, then this might be perfect for you.

On the other hand, the sour and fruity taste makes this tea very refreshing as an iced tea, perfect for the summer (I’ll have a recipe up soon!). So if I had to review this tea as iced, I’d give it a 4. Overall, I gave this tea a 3.5 on taste.

Packaging (5/5):

I loved the packaging for this tea. The tin is illustrated with a tropical forest theme with colorful, exotic birds and mushrooms.

Inside the tin, there’s a second airtight lid which protects the tea from light, air, and moisture, and keeps the tea smelling fresh.

According to Tea Bird Tea’s website, their teabags are made from corn starch and are biodegradable.

And you can recycle the fun, vibrant tin once you’ve finished your tea. I’m probably going to store my color pencils or markers!

But I wouldn’t recommend storing other tea in it before you’ve washed the tin very well and completely gotten rid of the Berry Blush tea aroma, as your tea will absorb the smell (unless for some reason you want your tea to smell like berries).

Value for Money (3/5):

A tin of 18 teabags is worth USD 8, which brings the cost to USD 2/ teabag. That’s a bit steep in my opinion. If you add shipping to the US, you will have to add another ~USD 9. However, you can get free shipping on Amazon, but the delivery wait time is 3-6 weeks.

Caffeine Level: Free

The base of this tea is rooibos which is a herbal tea. So it’s caffeine-free. You can enjoy this tea on a relaxed afternoon or even before bedtime.

Food Pairings:

The sour taste and fruity aroma of the tea reminded me of fruit jam, which then made me crave for a PB&J. So I had some peanut butter with it, and it was so good!

The sour taste of the tea is really well-balanced with something very savory like peanut butter toast, or a salad with peanut dressing, or even hummus and pita bread.

I made my own version of elevated scrambled eggs on peanut butter toast to go with the Berry Blush iced tea and it was de-lish! I’ll put up the recipe soon!

About the brand: Tea Bird Tea

Tea Bird Tea was founded by Ashleigh Cotterill. While their initial journey started in Australia, Tea Bird Tea started selling their tea in Malaysia in 2015, which is now their primary base.

On their website, it says their tea is sourced from India, Sri Lanka, China, and Malaysia. However, the Berry Blush tin itself has no information on the source of the tea, which I found a little disappointing.

However, their recyclable tin packaging and biodegradable teabags show their commitment to sustainability.

Where to Buy Tea Bird Tea Berry Blush:

You can purchase Tea Bird Tea Berry Blush tea from various sources, including Amazon or Tea Bird Tea’s official website (availability on Amazon may vary). You can get free shipping on Amazon, but as I said, you will have to wait 3-6 weeks.

Enjoy the summery fruitiness of this refreshing tea!
