In 2022, Samiha left a competitive PhD program in the United States and said goodbye to an almost lifelong dream of being a research scientist.
Samiha left with a Master’s in Molecular Biology and with zero plans on what she would do next.
All Samiha knew was that life was passing her by too quickly, and she wanted to stop and savor it.
She wanted to nurture her relationships and curate a meaningful, purpose-filled life, one that she could approach consciously, and with more intention.
Today’s fast-paced world encourages the incessant pursuit of grander achievements with no time to celebrate them, newer experiences with no time to learn from them, and a barrage of never-ending information with no time to gain any deeper knowledge.
Consequently, more and more people are searching for a slower life: a life that allows one to pause, reflect, and live more mindfully.
“Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the earth revolves–slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future.”
Tea embodies the essence of such a life.
Every cup of tea is an opportunity to be present and to feel more connected to oneself and nature.
This is why Samiha decided to start writing about tea, so she could perhaps impart some of tea’s essence into the hearts of people who are in dire need of it.
Samiha founded Where is the tea? for fellow tea enthusiasts and for people curious about tea, tea culture, and tea’s many benefits.
This platform allows Samiha to integrate her deep affection for tea with her love for science, philosophy, travel, culture, and of course food!
Whether you’re hunting for fun tea recipes, browsing for luxury tea assortments, searching for a special tea café to call your own, or simply looking for interesting stories to read on tea history and philosophy, while enjoying a cup of tea, you’ve come to the right place.
Keep sipping and keep reading!
